Nesta edição temos a honra
de contar com Dr. Sérgio
Montenegro nos falando um
pouco sobre as inovações no
Brasil Prevent:
1- WHYWASBRAZILPREVENT
DIFFERENT THIS YEAR?
Since last year we have
been able to involve all SBC
departments
in
BRAZIL
PREVENT. But, especially this
year, BRAZIL PREVENT was
different because we had the participation of
THE WORLD HEART FEDERATION with its
project about cardiovascular diseases, the so-
called 25x25 PROGRAM. This Program aims
to achieve a worldwide decrease of 25% in
mortality until 2025. SBC is now included in
this program and we will do our best in order to
reach this target.
2-WHAT KINDOF SUBSIDIES DID IT BRING TO
THE BRAZILIAN SOCIETY OF CARDIOLOGY?
This year we learned even more from our
International Partners and integrated all SBC
departments that deal with cardiovascular
disease prevention into this program in order to
address the risk factors of these diseases.
3-DOYOUBELIEVEALLTHATWASADDRESSED
IN THIS YEAR’ S BRAZIL PREVENT WILL IN FACT
BE ACTUALLY USED IN THE FUTURE BY SBC
IN BRAZIL?
Yes, since last year we have been focusing on
the idea of making global prevention campaigns,
which will involve all heart disease risk factors and
not just one or another risk factor individually.
English Corner
This is a multifactorial disease and must be faced
this way to attain its prevention.
4- WILL SBC ESTABLISH A PARTNERSHIP WITH
THE BRAZILIAN GOVERNMENT AFTER THE
OUTCOMES OF BRAZIL PREVENT 2015?
The technical integration with the government
is fundamental, for we have the expertise
and a broad net of state and regional offices,
whereas the government has the financial,
material and personnel resources in order
to increment prevention campaigns. This
partnership has already been experienced
in the Tobacco Prevention Campaign.
Immediately after this year’s Brazil Prevent,
we started making connections and getting in
touch with the representatives of the Brazilian
Ministry of Health, which showed a lot of
interest in working together with the Brazilian
Society of Cardiology.
